Dr. Petra Pouwels 

Petra Pouwels became acquainted with the field of leukodystrophies as a post-doctoral fellow in Göttingen, Germany (1995-1997). She was fascinated by the application of MRI and MRS (Prof. Frahm) in the field of pediatric neurology (Prof. Hanefeld).  Since 1998 she has been continuing this work in Amsterdam UMC, currently in the department of Radiology. Her main focus is on quantitative MRI techniques, and she enjoys the collaboration with both the Amsterdam Leukodystrophy Center and the MS Center Amsterdam.
